Cub Scouts

The Cub Scouts section is designed for children aged 9 to 11 years, providing them with opportunities to explore, learn, and grow in a supportive and adventurous environment.

Cub Scouts are organized into small groups known as Sixes. Each Six is led by a Sixer, a Cub Scout chosen to take on leadership responsibilities within the group.

The Sixer is supported by a Seconder, who assists in managing the group’s activities.

The Sixers meet regularly in what is known as the Sixer Council, where they discuss ideas, plan activities, and share feedback on behalf of their fellow Cubs. This council empowers young members to take an active role in shaping their Cub Scouting experience, fostering leadership and decision-making skills.

During the meetings, Cubs engage in a wide range of activities that encourage personal growth, teamwork, and a sense of adventure.

Cub Scouts meet every Tuesday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Cub Scouts programme is packed with exciting and educational activities designed to develop new skills and build confidence. Some of the key components include: Camping, Day Hikes, and Badgework.

Our Cub Scouts section is guided by experienced leaders who are passionate about providing a fun and enriching environment: Seán Kennelly, Ritchie Burbridge, and Ian Riordan.
